So, my buddy just sent me a link to a crazy person talking about how Tom and Jerry was actually a conspiracy to make people like Jewish people more. They are supposed to be represented by Jerry, and then even though they were mice, they were very smart and likable. Crazy, I know. But it got me thinking about Tom and Jerry. And I thought, who the hell would want to be likened to Jerry?
Jerry was a jerk. Yeah sure, Tom wanted to get him. Maybe eat him. But Jerry's intellect was so far beyond Tom's that he was always in control. And what did he decide to do with that control? Make Tom's life a living hell. Rather than taking the high road and avoiding conflict or perhaps negotiating some kind cease fire. In fact, one time when Tom 'caught' Jerry, Jerry pled for his life, Tom let him go, and you know what Jerry did? Hit him in the head.
Jerry is a jerk.
And so is the Roadrunner. And don't even get me started on the facist Captain Planet.
